Situated at the northern end of the "7-Mile Island", Avalon and Stone Harbor extend eastward one mile farther into the ocean than its neighboring resorts and is often referred to as being "Cooler by a Mile".
Beach and water activities highlight the summer daytime pleasures of an Avalon/Stone Harbor vacation. This peaceful beachfront community is dotted with distinctive homes and beach cottages and hosts hundreds of brightly colored sailboats, sleek motor boats and comfortable yachts during the summer months.
The "high dunes" of Avalon have been carefully preserved over the years. These dunes create a beautiful natural setting for the beaches and protect them, as well, from storm erosion. In both Avalon and Stone Harbor, walkways have been erected at the street-ends to allow access to the beach. The dune areas of the beach are covered with natural foliage and plant life indigenous to the area.
Boasting the quiet and quaintness of a small community, vacationers are beckoned to Avalon & Stone Harbor for two distinctly different seasons - the warmth of the summer sun and the relaxing quiet of the spring, fall and winter months.
Outstanding restaurants located in the resort attracts visitors desiring to sample gourmet delights, seafood delicacies and specialty foods of all types. Quaint shopping, within walking distance of many of the resort's restaurants and eateries, provides a perfect evening out on-the-town.
Charter, party and private boats leave daily for the easily accessible back bay, ocean and canyon fishing areas. You can also fish from the surf, jetties and piers throughout this resort community.
The residents of Avalon/Stone Harbor are also proud of their public parks and playgrounds. Beautifully maintained by the residents, these parks offer a peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle usually associated with an action-packed vacation.
For vacationers desiring to add more attractions to their "to do" list, Avalon & Stone Harbor are just 20 minutes from the Wildwood Boardwalk , 20 minutes from the Ocean City Boardwalk and 30 minutes from Atlantic City's gaming attractions. The Victorian landscape of Cape May, the history of Cold Spring Village and ecological attractions at the Wetlands Institute are all within a short drive from the resort where solitary dune walks and invigorating ocean breezes make Avalon and Stone Harbor's seashore community a naturally perfect and tranquil setting for visitors who want to enjoy "getting away from it all."
Beautiful beaches and gentle surf, combine with fine shopping, exquisite restaurants and exciting nightclubs for a great vacation escape.
